Environmental Influence
How do people influence and affect their environment?
The Greek environment was a barren landscape and because of this, the soil grew very little crops. The mountains that surrounded their civilization were both good and bad because they sealed them in which made it hard to retreat, but also protected them from armies who tried to enter and concur them.
The Mediterranean Sea was the only thing keeping the Greeks alive. It was almost 100 percent of their food and travel paths for trading which gave them access to spices, foreign foods, and weapons.
How the Greeks settled into their environment...
The Greeks clearly chose a hard place to live, so adapting was difficult but they were smart had many ways to advance in their environment.
A water wheel was used to make energy with a mill race(small water slide used to transport water) that dropped water into cups that weigh the water wheel and spun it downward. This in turn pushed gears to create energy.
Wildlife in Ancient Greece...
Ancient Greece was a small civilization but what it lacked in size, it made up for in nature. There were over 425 types of birds, 6000 plant species, 70 different kinds of reptiles and amphibians, and 87 types of mammals. Greece currently hosts many raptors and is a hotspot that attracts tourists and bird watchers.
